Support for good governance in the Philippines is also one of the key program elements of the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID).
The Philippines-Australia Governance Facility (PAGF) is part of AusAID's Philippines Country Program Strategy, for the years 1999-2003. This is also in keeping with the thrust of the Estrada administration, which emphasizes good governance as a means to reduce poverty and inequity, to increase economic growth, and to support the social institutions, on which the Philippine society is based.
