The National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) represented by Assistant Director-General Rolando G. Tungpalan (left, signing; right, inset) and the Japan International Cooperation Center (JICE) represented by its Vice President Ken Kinoshita (right, signing; left, inset), sign management service contracts implementing the Japanese Grant Aid for Human Resource Development Project (JDSP). In its 4th year, the JDSP has given a total grant of Y445,000,000, or US$4.18 million, to cover tuition fees, management fees and other expenses of the JDS scholars. The contracts are based on two Exchanges of Notes signed on July 8, 2005 by DFA Secretary Alberto Romulo and the Ambassador of Japan, which will run from April 1, 2005 to March 31, 2006, and July 8, 2005 to March 31, 2009, respectively.
