Socioeconomic Planning Secretary and National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) director-general Romulo L. Neri (center) listens as Basilan governor Wahab Akbar (right) expresses his gratitude for the funding support extended by the NEDA-KR2 Productivity Enhancement Program (NEDA-KR2 PEP) for the expansion of the rubber seedling nursery and planting in Basilan. Sulu governor Benjamin Loong (left) also received funding from NEDA-KR2 PEP for the rehabilitation of the abaca industry through equipment acquisition, capability building, and livelihood support in Sulu. Memoranda of agreement (MOA) were recently signed between NEDA and the provincial governments at the NEDA Boardroom, Pasig City . Checks were also turned over to project recipients for another batch of projects funded by the NEDA-KR2 PEP. The program is supported by the Philippines-Japan Grant Assistance for Underprivileged Farmers.
