NEDA, IGLF AWARDS CHECKS FOR SME PROJECTS

National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Director-General and Industrial Guarantee and Loans Fund (IGLF) Review Committee Chair Romulo L. Neri (right) awards a check to Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Assistant Secretary Carissa Cruz-Evangelista (right) after the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement between NEDA, the DTI and IGLF held recently at the NEDA Boardroom, Pasig City. The IGLF has released the check for DTI’s Revised One Town-One Product (OTOP) Program and the Summit on Guidelines for Halal Food. Five projects were given a total of PhP14.625 million in grants to be financed under the fund, which is geared for wholesale lending to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) via government financial institutions. Aside from DTI’s projects, others are Don Mariano Marcos State University’s Collaborative Program on Food Development and Packaging for Sustainable Development, SME Development Council of Pampanga’s Capacity Building and Competitiveness Enhancement for SMEs and University of the Philippines-Institute for Small Scale Industries (UP-ISSI) for it’s conduct of capability-enhancement seminars for SME entrepreneurs and loan officers.
