Socioeconomic Planning Secretary ROMULO L. NERI (middle) answers a question
after his talk on increasing productivity and harnessing local initiatives
at the 5th General Assembly of the League of Governors in the Philippines
(LPP) held at Bohol Tropics Resort, Tagbilaran, Bohol, last April 8-9,
2004. Expounding on the Saemaul movement of Korea for development through
encouraging local initiatives in financing, technical knowledge and support,
as well as giving examples from the domestic and international front,
Neri relays to the governors present on how they could do this model in
their respective provinces. Flanking him are NEDA Assistant Director General
ROLANDO TUNGPALAN (left), who also gave a talk on the access by local
government units of official development assistance (ODA) and LPP President
and Bohol Governor ERICO AUMENTADO (right).
