Socioeconomic Planning Secretary and National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Director General Romulo L. Neri (right) presents to President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo (left) the Harmonized Gender and Development Guidelines for Project Development, Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation, a guidebook designed to provide government agencies, development practitioners, NEDA and donor organizations with a common tool to ensure that gender concerns are fully integrated in the various stages of a project's cycle.
Launched during the Pearl Anniversary Celebration of the National Commission on the Role of Filipino Women in Malacaņang grounds recently, the book also aims to facilitate better classification of programs and projects, with the primary goal of implementing more gender-responsive projects and empowering Filipino women.
