Social Development Staff Director Erlinda M. Capones of the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) (inset) presents the 2nd Philippine Progress Report on the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) to the Multisectoral Consultative Workshop on the 2nd Progress Report on the MDGs, held at the Asian Institute of Management in Makati City recently. Director Capones said that government, the legislature, business, academe, local government units, and regional initiatives are important in advocating the MDGs, along with localizing and monitoring them. Other important steps would be policy formulation, tools development, capacity building, documentation and replication of best practices, including development information, institutional arrangements, and data availability.
